Resurrection Lutheran Church (www.rlcnb.net) contracted with LANDCO2 to conduct a Sustainable Landscape Audit and Plan (SLA) for their property in New Berlin, WI. The goal was to create a master plan for a sustainable landscape design that can be implemented in phases as funding sources become available so the congregation could plan for a more ecologically responsible future and create outdoor spaces for the church and the neighborhood as a whole. LANDCO2 first conducted a site analysis of the property, looking at existing vegetation, historic land uses, and drainage patterns, and then determined how to alleviate stormwater runoff, increase biodiversity, and create an enhanced series of outdoor spaces for the congregation to enjoy. The master plan quantifies the potential gallons of water absorbed, biodiversity lift, carbon dioxide captured, and human health enhancements.
