University of Wisconsin-Madison students created models for their final project in LA 210, which is an introductory design studio for Landscape Architecture majors. James Steiner, instructor for the course, uses this project as a way to help students visualize 3D space by designing and executing a hand-built model for selected imaginary “client” profiles. Each year he is pleasantly surprised by the results and appreciates the level of care and detail the students put into their designs. A sampling of a few of the models is shown here. “Each fits a specific design concept that adapts to the imaginary client’s requests.”
